My name is Janell, and I’m an accountant. An accountant obsessed with reading. As a child, I remember actually reading the back of soup cans while I ate a peanut butter sandwich in the kitchen. If I have free eyes, they are in a book. Usually, I’ve got two or three I’m reading at any given time, and it’s actually hard to understand people who don’t read much. Like my husband. Needless to say, we have other things in common, or we wouldn’t have made it 20 years.
My teenagers are sort of off and on readers, depending on their school loads, etc. Chantel loves to read, mostly young adult fiction, but also biographies and some classics thrown in. She also writes stories. Not on the computer, but in longhand. Jude reads quite a bit, and growing up loved fantasy. We share a love of Harry Potter. He has delved into some deeper things lately, reading The Road and The Fountainhead.
Books are my dearest friends and companions, honestly! Where else can I loose myself for hours at a time, ignoring all responsibilities and forgetting all my cares? I finish a couple of books a month at least. Here I like to write about my favorites, speculations, goings on, and anything else I feel like. Whatever’s happening in my life makes it to the page here. Fortunately, it usually has something to do with books.
